Woman continues using organization’s name to get money

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The Northtowns Boys & Girls Club says a middle-aged woman continues to go to area homes and businesses trying to solicit donations on their behalf, but she is not affiliated with their organization.

The club raised the alarm two weeks ago when the woman, described as white in her late 30s with brown hair, and her supposed son were going door-to-door in the Buffalo area. The organization never goes door-to-door to try to drum up donations.

Now, on Tuesday, the woman went into Pizza Bella and Zip’s Pizzeria on Tonawanda Street seeking donations.

If you see her or her supposed son, or should anyone come to your door seeking donations for the Northtown Boys & Girls Club, call police.
