WESTFIELD, N.Y. (WIVB) – Deputies took a Westfield man into custody who they say broke through a door to gain access to a home, shoved the resident, and then broke a second door.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office was called to a home in Westfield after the incident around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday. The suspect, 32-year-old Joseph Timmerman, had already left the scene but was taken into custody a short time later.

Authorities say Timmerman broke into the home by busting in a door, and once inside the home, broke a second door. He also allegedly shoved the resident inside.

He is facing charges of fourth degree criminal mischief and second degree harassment.
