Man accused of stealing and then selling guns

HUME, N.Y. (WIVB) – A southern tier man is facing charges after State Police say he burglarized a home, stole two long guns and then sold them.

Troopers arrested 24-year-old Michael Munto of Fillmore on Tuesday and charged him with third degree burglary, two counts of third degree criminal sale of a firearm, and two counts of fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Authorities say Munto stole two long guns from a home in the Town of Hume and then sold them.

After being arraigned, Munto was taken to the Allegany County Jail on $10,000 bail. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
