BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – One game into the afternoon, and we already have an upset in Buffalo. Dayton held off Ohio State 60-59 in a thrilling finish.

With time winding down, Dayton’s Vee Sanford gave the Flyers a one-point lead. Ohio State senior Aaron Craft raced down the court in the final three seconds, but his shot at the buzzer did not fall.

Dayton moves on to the Round of 32 against the Syracuse/Western Michigan winner.

The final minute was packed with big shots. Shannon Scott fouled Dayton’s Dyshawn Pierre while attempting a three-pointer with 26.3 seconds to go. Pierre knocked down all three to give the Flyers a 58-57 lead.

Ohio State countered with a Craft layup to re-take the lead, only to give it back in the final seconds.

Craft had 16 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals in his final game as a Buckeye. Pierre paced the Flyers with 12 points and 8 rebounds.
