Former bank employee accused of stealing from elderly customers

LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) – A former bank employee has been accused of stealing around $35,000 in cash from the bank accounts of seven elderly Lockport residents.

State Police arrested Vickie Fritton, currently of Spring Hill, Florida, on charges of third degree grand larceny and first degree scheme to defraud on Thursday. Troopers say Fritton stole $10,000 from the bank account of an elderly man while working at a Lockport-area bank. A subsequent internal investigation revealed she allegedly stole an additional $25,000 from six other elderly bank customers.

Fritton is due back in court in May.
