Man allegedly offers police $100 to “forget about” pot

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Lancaster resident is accused of offering police officers money to “forget about (his) bud.” The incident led police to find more than 100 marijuana plants.

Police say they were on St. John Street for an EMS call, when they could smell marijuana coming from another apartment.

Police went to the apartment and spoke to a 25-year-old male resident, who denied having marijuana. Then, he allegedly tried to bribe police with a $100 bill.

Police arrested the resident and secured a search warrant for the apartment. During the search, police report finding 118 pot plants and other paraphernalia.

The resident is charged with felony third-degree bribery of a public servant, fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana and unlawful growing of cannabis.
