EDMONTON (WIVB) – Cory Conacher found the net twice, giving goalie Matt Hackett all the support he needed in a 3-1 Sabres win over Edmonton Thursday night.

The win snapped a seven game losing streak for Buffalo, who’d scored just six goals during that streak.

Conacher broke a 1-1 tie in the third, re-directing a Cody Hodgson shot for his second goal of the night. Drew Stafford added the insurance goal off a no-look pass from Tyler Ennis.

Hackett stopped 35 shots to pick up the win in his first start with the Sabres.

Buffalo now heads to Vancouver for an 8pm start Sunday night. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
