Cuomo warns employers about min. wage laws

ALBANY, N.Y. (WIVB) – Governor Andrew Cuomo is sending out a warning to employers about complying with New York State’s minimum wage laws. He says employers can face fines, charges, even criminal punishment for failing to follow the new laws.

The state’s $8 minimum wage went into effect on December 31st. By the end of this year, it will jump to $8.75 an hour.

The state is investigating almost 400 cases of employers violating the new law.
