Man tries to interfere with operation of police vehicle

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – State Police say a man attempted to interfere with the operation of a patrol vehicle while he was being arrested for drunk driving.

Troopers pulled Alex Vogel over around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday for driving erratically on I-190. Police say the 27-year-old man failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for DWI.

Vogel was handcuffed and placed in the back of the cruiser. But troopers say on the way to the station, Vogel unbuckled himself and attempted interfere with the operation of the vehicle. Police say they were able to quickly and safely get Vogel back into his seat without further incident.

The Derby man refused to take a BAC test at the station and was charged with DWI, second degree obstruction of governmental administration, refusing to take a breath test, failure to use four-way flashers, no signal, driving on the shoulder, unsafe lane change and having illegally tinted windows.
