New sound system, concession options for Bisons games

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Though Mother Nature doesn’t seem to agree, baseball season is almost here in the Queen City and the Buffalo Bisons are showing off what’s new at the ballpark.

The Bisons unveiled a new state-of-the-art sound system on Monday that will help fans keep up with every crack of the bat. Previously, there were speakers in the scoreboard. But they were 26 years old and greatly affected by the weather. Now, with help from the city, the ballpark sports 117 speakers throughout the stadium and three new speakers in the scoreboard.

Other game day improvements come at the concession stands, where this year fans will be served mini tacos, loaded baked potato bites, and mac and cheese to go along with the staples of Sahlen’s hot dogs and Wardynski’s sausages.

The team is also expanding the Bisons Wine Cart and fans will now be able to have wine served to them right at their seats – just like beer!

Opening day is Thursday, April 3 against the Rochester Red Wings. The game starts at 2 p.m. and there are still tickets available.
