LEWISTON, N.Y. (WIVB) – Troopers say they had to stop a man from leaving as he was being placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated.

Last Friday, State Police stopped 51-year-old Anthony Cecconi of Youngstown for allegedly speeding on Rt. 104 in Lewiston. Troopers say Cecconi failed field sobriety tests, and when he was told he was being placed under arrest, he tried to leave.

Officers took Cecconi into custody. His BAC was reportedly .10 percent.

Cecconi is charged with felony DWI, resisting arrest, second degree obstructing governmental administration, reckless driving, and several other vehicle and traffic violations.

After being arraigned, he was taken to the Niagara County Jail on $1,000 bail.
