Police find hikers missing from Boy Scout camp

ASHFORD, N.Y. (WIVB) – Two missing hikers were found about three miles from their Boy Scout camp with the help of State Police K-9 Nugent.

Troopers say a 14-year-old Scout and his father never returned to the campsite off Bolton Road in the Town of Ashford after leaving around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. With the dangerous terrain, extreme cold and inclement weather, troopers and forest rangers began searching for the hikers, led by K-9 Nugent.

Around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, the hikers were found along Cattaraugus Creek, around three miles from the campsite. They were not injured.
