Students to learn lesson about prescription drugs

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) – High school students in the district will be getting a powerful lesson Thursday about the dangers of prescription drugs.

A Project Hope Campaign Day of Awareness is happening at Williamsville North High School. Students will hear from parents, including Avi Israel, who lost his son Michael to addiction.

Staff and students will also unveil a poster dedicated to Michael.

After that the kids will spend the day learning and discussing drug addiction specially painkillers and how to avoid addiction. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
