Man accused of threatening teens over court case

SPRINGVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) – Two teenagers say a man connected to a suspect awaiting trial threatened them about the pending court case as they were walking in Fiddler’s Green Park in Springville.

The girls, who are 15- and 16-years-old, were walking through the park around 3:20 p.m. on Thursday when deputies say they were approached by 21-year-old Tyler Swartz, who allegedly made threats regarding a pending court case that his friend is a suspect in and currently being held in jail as he awaits trial.

The teens went to the Erie County Sheriff’s Office to report the incident, and two hours later when they caught up to him, deputies say Swartz admitted his involvement in the incident.

He was arrested for two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and third degree tampering with a witness.

Swartz was taken to the Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment.
