Pediatric Psychiatric Center to stay open

ALBANY, N.Y. (WIVB) – New York State $140 billion budget will include funding to keep the Pediatric Psychiatric Center in West Seneca open for at least 12 more months.

According to Sen. Patrick Gallivan, R-Elma, the spending plan agreed to Saturday by legislators will fund operation of the facility for another year.

In February, News 4 reported plans to close the West Seneca facility and move the children to the Buffalo Psychiatric Center at Elmwood Avenue & Forest. The plans outraged neighbors and families. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
