Lawmakers to vote on $140 billion budget

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – New York State lawmakers are expected to vote Monday on a new $140 billion budget.

The spending plan includes money for full day pre-kindergarten, salary increases for low-paid direct care workers, and a test run of public financing for political campaigns, with tax money supporting the race for state comptroller.

The budget will be considered on time if it’s enacted by midnight.
