KENNEDY, N.Y. (WIVB) – A man who fled after attacking a man and stabbing a woman in the hand will spend the next two to four years in state prison.

Melvin Jackson was sentenced Monday for second degree attempted assault. Last June, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office had to use a K-9 Officer to track down the 53-year-old Kennedy man after he attacked the man and stabbed the woman.
