JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) – Officers say a man fled after they ordered him to stop and tried to elude capture by hiding underneath a discarded mattress.
Jamestown Police responded to a call on W. 8th Street at Cherry Street around 1:30 p.m. on Monday and saw 25-year-old Matthew Goodlow of Jamestown running across the street.
Goodlow is wanted on a bench warrant in Jamestown City Court and officers ordered him to stop. But police say he kept running and then tried to hide underneath a discarded mattress, but his ruse failed.
He was taken into custody for the warrant and new charges of obstructing governmental administration and unlawful possession of marijuana.
