BYRON, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Rochester man is facing several charges after a traffic stop in Byron. State Police say 24-year-old Ronnie R. Simpson was traveling with a child when he was stopped on State Route 262, Saturday afternoon.
Police say they could smell alcohol coming from inside the vehicle during the stop. Also inside the vehicle, police say Simpson had a small plastic baggy with less than 25 grams of marijuana.
Troopers say Simpson failed sobriety tests, and a drug recognition expert says he was impaired by drugs.
Simpson was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, aggravated DWI with a child in the vehicle less than 16 years old, operating a motor vehicle impaired by drugs and other vehicle and traffic charges.
He was arraigned in Town of Byron Court and taken to Genesee County Jail.
