April Fools’ Day raids net 15 drug-related arrests

ALBION, N.Y. (WIVB) – The Orleans County Major Felony Crime Task Force wasn’t kidding around when they conducted a series of April Fools’ Day raids that netted 15 arrests.

For the past six months, agents had been investigating the sale and distribution of crack cocaine, heroin, prescription pills and marijuana in Albion. On April 1, agents along with Albion Police, Medina Police, Genesee and Orleans County Sheriff’s deputies and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement executed seven search warrants, six in the Village of Albion and one in the Town of Carlton.

The following people were arrested:

  • Tony Thompson, 47, of Rochester – charged with fifth degree criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance. Held in the Orleans County Jail on $10,000 bail
    J.W. Hardy, Jr., 56, of Albion – charged with three counts of third degree criminal sale and four counts of third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, one of fifth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, three counts of first degree criminal nuisance and four counts of first degree unlawfully dealing with a child. Taken to the Orleans County Jail on no bail due to criminal history
  • Julie Hardy, 46, of Albion – charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fifth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and four counts of first degree unlawfully dealing with a child. Held in the Orleans County Jail on $10,000 bail
  • Joseph James, 33, of Albion – charged with four counts of third degree criminal sale and criminal possession of a controlled substance, first degree criminal nuisance, first degree criminal nuisance, first degree unlawfully dealing with a child and unlawful possession of marijuana. Held in the Orleans County Jail on $25,000 bail
  • Melissa Warren, 28, of Albion – charged with three counts of third degree criminal sale and four counts of third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, six counts of first degree criminal nuisance and one count of first degree unlawfully dealing with a child. Held in the Orleans County Jail on $25,000 bail
  • Charles Ingram, 58, of Albion – charged with three counts of third degree criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance, four counts of first degree criminal nuisance and one count of seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Taken to the Orleans County Jail on no bail due to criminal history
  • Stephen Miles, 51, of Albion – charged with third degree criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance, fourth degree criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance, one count of fifth degree criminal sale and two counts of fifth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of first degree criminal nuisance and one count of seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Taken to the Orleans County Jail on no bail due to criminal history
  • Dawn Read, 42, of Albion – charged with fifth degree criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance, and one count of fourth degree criminal diversion of prescription medication. Taken to the Orleans County Jail on no bail due to criminal history
  • Freddie Taylor, 45, of Rochester – charged with third degree criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance, fourth degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, and fifth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Taken to the Orleans County Jail on no bail due to criminal history
  • Cheryl Poole, 51, of Carlton – charged with two counts of fifth degree criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance. Taken to the Orleans County Jail on no bail due to criminal history
  • Katherine Taylor, 22, of Carlton – charged with three counts of third degree criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance. Held in the Orleans County Jail on $10,000 bail
  • Christine Forrester, 43, of Albion – charged with four counts of fifth degree criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance. Held in the Orleans County Jail on $10,000 bail
  • Christopher Saddler, 30, of Albion – charged with one count of fifth degree criminal sale and four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, five counts of fifth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, one count of fourth degree criminal sale and possession of marijuana, five counts of first degree criminal nuisance and one count of fourth degree criminal diversion of prescription medication. Held in the Orleans County Jail on $25,000 bail
  • Jessica Saddler, 22, of Albion – charged with one count of fifth degree criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance, four counts of first degree criminal nuisance, one count of fourth degree criminal sale and possession of marijuana, and one count of unlawfully dealing with a child. Held in the Orleans County Jail on $10,000 bail
  • Felicia Gaddis, 45, of Carlton – charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Issued an appearance ticket
  • Wade Muscarella, 59, of Carlton – charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Issued an appearance ticket

Agents say they seized powder cocaine, crack cocaine, prescription pills and marijuana in the raids. Their investigation is ongoing and further arrests and charges are pending.
