Police to crack down on distracted driving


DEPEW, N.Y. (WIVB) – Police in Depew are cracking down on distracted driving. All month officers will be out in full force, looking for drivers on their phones.

The program has been fully sponsored by the Police Traffic Services grant, while provides funding to law enforcement agencies to conduct traffic enforcement details.

Police are asking drivers to pay attention. They say in 2012, 3,328 people were killed in distracted driving accidents.
