BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Donald Trump spoke to WBEN Tuesday morning, about potential interest in buying the Buffalo Bills. Trump said people have talked to him about investing in the team, and he said he is “taking a look at it.”
Trump made it quite clear that, if he gets involved, he will keep the Bills in Buffalo. Trump called the team a “storied franchise.” He also said, keeping the Bills in western New York is “vital to our area.”
Trump says this all played out, “I heard about it last week. A group of people called me, would I be interested in investing, and I’ll take a look at it. I look at lot of things; it’s certainly a wonderful franchise. The people are amazing. The fans are amazing in Buffalo.”
Trump said, “It would be catastrophic in my opinion if Buffalo lost the Buffalo Bills.”
News of Trump’s interest in the Bills comes on the same day the team’s stadium committee is meeting. Members will get together Tuesday afternoon for the first time. They will be considering whether the Bills need a new stadium or whether additional renovations should be done at the Ralph.
Trump also spoke with WBEN about his good friend, Jim Kelly. He said the Kelly family is staying at one of his apartments in New York during Jim’s treatment.
