Miller gets the night off vs. Sabres

ST. LOUIS (WIVB) – Ryan Miller will watch from the bench, when he faces his former team for the first time Thursday night. The St. Louis Blues announced today that Brian Elliott will be the starting goaltender against the Sabres.

Buffalo traded Miller and former captain Steve Ott to St. Louis a few days before last month’s NHL trade deadline. In his 14 starts since the deal, Miller has posted a 10-3-1 record with a 2.01 goals-against average.

After practice today, he said he wasn’t disappointed that he would not get the start. Instead, he is simply looking forward to seeing some old friends again.

“It’s going to be a little strange,” Miller said. “All great guys, all guys I count as friends, so I’m looking forward to seeing them. That’s the human side of it.”
