Nine arrested in Jamestown heroin raids

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) – A months-long investigation into heroin trafficking in Jamestown culminated Wednesday when authorities conducted seven raids and took nine people into custody.

Jamestown Police accompanied by State Police and Homeland Security agents raided homes on East 2nd Street, East 8th Street, Forest Park, Spring Street, Fairview Avenue, and Willis Street. Officers seized a large amount of heroin, cash, drug paraphernalia, weapons and prescription medications.

At a home on Cherry Street, officers say they found cocaine, cash and a marijuana grow operation. Thirty-one marijuana plants were found secreted behind a false wall in the home.

The following people were arrested:

  • Alberto Acevedo, 24, of East 2nd Street – charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and he had an outstanding probation violation warrant
  • Luis Acevedo, 46, of East 2nd Street – charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
  • Hector Colon Rodriguez, 40, of Forest Park – charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
  • Roberto Morales Sanchez, 45, of Spring Street – charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of drug paraphernalia
  • Leslie Rodriguez, 27, of Spring Street – charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of drug paraphernalia
  • Daniel McKay, 20, of Fairview Avenue – charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Wesley Riley, 35, of Cherry Street – charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, growing marijuana, unlawful possession of marijuana, and fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Robin Riley, 56, of Cherry Street – charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, growing marijuana, unlawful possession of marijuana, and fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Brooke Weinert, 20, of Cherry Street – charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, growing marijuana, unlawful possession of marijuana, and fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon

All of the suspects are being held pending arraignment.
