JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) – Police say they have caught one suspect who robbed the 7-Eleven on North Main Street and the CVS on South Main Street, but are still searching for a second suspect.
Detectives say 23-year-old Thomas Lawson robbed the 7-Eleven on March 24 at knifepoint, stealing cash and cigarettes before fleeing on foot. Two days later, police say Lawson and a second man robbed the CVS at knifepoint, stealing prescription medications, cash and cigarettes.
Investigators say they recovered some of the stolen property in the basement of Lawson’s business, Vans Texas Hots, on North Main Street after executing a search warrant on Thursday.
Lawson was arrested and charged with two counts of first degree armed robbery. His alleged accomplice remains at-large, though police say they have several leads.
Police do not believe Lawson is connected to the second 7-Eleven robbery on East Second Street on April 1.
Anyone with information on that robbery or the second suspect in the CVS robbery is asked to call 483-8477.
