Two men quickly caught after Lockport robbery

LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) – Lockport Police quickly caught two men who allegedly robbed a person near the Subway on Main Street around 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

Officers arriving in the area spotted two men fitting the description of the suspects, and when they approached, the two men took off running. One man, 19-year-old Demitrius Cole, was quickly apprehended.

Patrols began looking for the second suspect and saw a basement door that seemed off. With the homeowner’s permission, officers entered the basement, where they found Ralph Williams III, unknown age, hiding. He was taken into custody.

Both Cole and Williams are charged with second degree robbery, third degree menacing, petit larceny, second degree obstruction of governmental administration and resisting arrest.

Cole is also facing charges of robbery for an incident that occurred on Pine Street on Saturday.
