Signs to be replaced on Rt. 33 East, causing lane closures

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Just like last summer, you can expect nightly lane closures on Rt. 33 in Buffalo and Cheektowaga.

Beginning Tuesday, the NYS DOT says between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., lanes on Rt. 33 East will be closed between Elm/Oak Streets and Rt. 198 to conduct sign replacements. The closures are expected to last between three and four weeks. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
