Flyers stomp Sabres 5-2

PHILADELPHIA (WIVB) – The best medicine for a team struggling offensively? Play the Sabres. The Flyers exploded for five goals – three of them in the second period – topping Buffalo 5-2 Sunday night.

Philadelphia scored four in a row before Cody Hodgson finally got the Sabres on the board in the third period with his 19th goal of the season. Mike Weber added his first goal of the season late in the third.

Buffalo also lost defensemen Chad Ruhwedel and Christian Ehrhoff in the third period with head injuries.
