BERGEN, N.Y. (WIVB) – A man who police say swerved to avoid a deer also wrecked his car and was arrested for drunk driving.

On Friday, troopers were called to West Sweden Road in the Town of Bergen where they found 43-year-old Adam Bobzin of Bryon. His vehicle was in a ditch and Bobzin told police he had swerved to avoid hitting a deer.

Troopers say Bobzin failed field sobriety tests and a breath test would reveal a .12 percent BAC.

He was placed under arrest on charges of DWI and speed not reasonable and prudent. Following arraignment, Bobzin was taken to the Genesee County Jail on $2,500 bail.
