Erie county Dads arrested in child support sweep

BUFFALO N.Y (WIVB)  Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard announced the arrest of seven men from Buffalo, Lackawanna and Cheektowaga Wednesday who all are accused of failing to pay child support. Deputies from the Erie County Sheriff’s Office arrested and took 7 subjects on 11 different warrants into custody.

Arrested in the sweep were:  29 year old Jonathan MacKinnon from Buffalo on a Family Court Child Support Warrant and two Town of Tonawanda Bench Warrants for assault, unlawful possession of marijuana, and various vehicle and traffic charges.  Also arrested in the sweep were:  33 year old Demarr Johnson from Buffalo on two Family Court Child Support Warrants, 42 year old Mark D. Saunders from Buffalo on a Family Court Child Support Warrant, 24 year old Nicholas Giardina from Cheektowaga on a Family Court Child Support Warrant, 45 year old Gary E. Bitner from Lackawanna on two Family Court Child Support Warrants, 35 year old John T. Harley II from Lackawanna on a Family Court Child Support Warrant, and 42 year old Richard Carriero from Buffalo on a Family Court Child Support Warrant.  Deputies are confident that intelligence gathered during the sweep will lead to several more arrests in the following days and weeks.
