Jim Kelly completes first dose of chemotherapy

NEW YORK, N.Y. (WIVB) – Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly has completed his first round of chemotherapy, Wednesday.

Kelly’s wife, Jill, tweeted “First round of chemo. Done.”

Chemotherapy was expected to be administered Wednesday, at Lenox Hill Hospital, in New York City. Radiation treatment will continue for the next five-and-a-half weeks.

Before starting chemotherapy, the Hall of Fame quarterback and his family took the opportunity to enjoy a New York Knicks Game at Madison Square Garden.

Kelly is fighting an aggressive cancer that has spread throughout his face. Doctors say the cancer is treatable and potentially curable.

The family continues to ask for prayers.
