Police find runaway teen, arrest 21-year-old man

WEST ALMOND, N.Y. (WIVB) – A 21-year-old North Carolina man was arrested on the southern tier after State Police found a 16-year-old girl reported as a runaway in his vehicle.

Troopers pulled over Matthew Bordonaro of Wendell, NC for a minor traffic infraction in the Town of West Almond on Monday and discovered the teen girl in his vehicle was a runaway from Henderson, NC who had been reported missing on March 31.

Bordonaro was taken into custody on charges of endangering the welfare of a child and criminal possession of a firearm. He was released on $1,000 bail.

Police say the teen’s mother came to New York to pick up her daughter.
