Project draws international attention to Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The Queen City is getting a lot of international attention as part of a state initiative to bring some new, innovative projects to Buffalo.

Governor Andrew Cuomo announced the 43North project has attracted thousands of applicants from 56 countries and 46 states. 43North, which is part of the ‘Buffalo Billion,’ is billed as the world’s largest business idea competition.

Its goal is to attract entrepreneurs and start-ups who want to turn their dreams into a reality, in western New York. There are about $5 million in prizes up for grabs.

Winners will get a free space in WNY to grow their idea, as well as access to mentors in their field.
