Warrant check leads to three arrests

MAYVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) – Troopers say they discovered a marijuana grow operation when they went to a home in Mayville to arrest a resident wanted on a warrant.

State Police went to the home on Rt. 430 on Saturday for an arrest warrant but ended up taking three residents into custody for unlawful growing of marijuana. Martin Wenzel, 27; Kyle Langer, 24; and Dustin Taves, 25, are all facing charges.

Wenzel and Langer are also charged with fifth degree criminal possession of marijuana and fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon. Wenzel is additionally charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

All three are due to appear in Town of Chautauqua Court at a later date.
