BOCES Superintendent to retire in July


TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) – An educator who been district superintendent for Erie 1 BOCES will retire in July.

Donald A. Ogilvie, has had a long and distinguished career, starting as a classroom teacher in the Williamsville School District. He has also been superintendent for Hamburg Central, served as a principal in the Ken-Ton District and led Erie 1 Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) for 17 years.

As the leader of Erie 1 BOCES he has been an important liaison to 19 school districts.

Ogilvie’s resume also includes public service outside the education arena.  He served as President of the Board of Trustees of the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site Foundation and on the Board of Trustees of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
