ARCADE, N.Y. (WIVB) – The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call from a woman who said her boyfriend wouldn’t let her out of his vehicle on Sunday in Arcade.

Officials say the woman was dropped off at a location near her home and her boyfriend, 27-year-old Joseph R. Rotunda, left in his vehicle. At the victim’s home, deputies say they found marijuana, methylphenidate pills and hypodermic needles that belong to Rotunda.

Deputies say they found Rotunda a short time later and he was determined to be intoxicated. In his vehicle, deputies say they found drug paraphernalia. He was charged with second-degree unlawful imprisonment, unlawful possession of marijuana, criminal possession of a controlled substance, possession of a hypodermic instrument, driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and unlicensed operation.

He was arraigned in Town of Arcade Court and bail was set at $5,000. He is due back in court during May. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
