Local student qualifies for statewide geography bee

KENMORE, N.Y. (WIVB) – News 4 is congratulating Michael Franz. He represented St. John the Baptist School, in Kenmore, at the New York State National Geographic Geography Bee in Albany. The 8th grader was one of just 100 students from across the state who qualified.

Michael says he’s always enjoyed social studies and learning about different places.

We’d love to hear from you. Help us recognize students in western New York who are making a difference. Email us at wakeup@wivb.com. Be sure to include a picture or video.
