NEW YORK (WIVB) – The Sabres survived a brutal second period, but a late goal from Rick Nash sent Buffalo to another loss, with the Rangers picking up the 2-1 win.

New York out-shot Buffalo 18-1 in the second period. Despite that massive gap, both teams scored one goal in the frame – Drew Stafford for the Sabres, and Benoit Pouliot for the Rangers.

Nash netted the game-winner with less than two minutes remaining, handing the Sabres their 50th regulation loss of the season.

Buffalo has two games to go – on the road at Boston Saturday, then home against the Islanders Sunday night.
