WEST SENECA, NY (WIVB) – A multiple alarm fire destroyed a house in West Seneca Saturday afternoon.

About 10 fire companies had to come in to get the fire under control at 148 Burch Avenue.Burch Ave fire

Firefighters say the fire started on the second floor. Originally there were reports of a missing person, but it turns out, they were just away from home when the fire happened.

West Seneca Fire Chief Carl Radtke said the resident is a hoarder, which made fighting the fire more difficult.

The additional photos come from Bill, a News 4 viewer who pulled off the Thruway near the scene to get a closer look. He took several photographs with a new perspective of a house fire.
