Town picks new operator of Woodlawn Beach restaurant

HAMBURG, N.Y. (WIVB) – The Town of Hamburg has selected a new vendor to operate concessions at Woodlawn Beach.

Monday night the Town Board selected Robert Bieber, who operates Colombo’s on Lakeview Road, to take over the stand. The Board previously terminated its contract with Tucker Curtin, who has run the spot for the last three years.

Members did not give a reason for ending that deal.

Curtin attempted to stop the Board from selecting a new operator, but the State Supreme Court denied his request.

Curtin says he wants to get his equipment out of the restaurant, which is locked up. If he can’t get his equipment, his attorney, Michael Stenger, says they plan to go back court. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
