Town supervisor wants to cut off Artpark support

LEWISTON, N.Y. (WIVB) – The town supervisor of Lewiston is saying enough is enough when it comes to spending town money on Artpark.

Dennis Brochey wants to stop sharing tipping fee money with the park, and wants the park to pick up the tab for police protection for its summer concerts.

He told town board members Monday night that the town has subsidized Artpark long enough.

Last year, after the concert season wrapped up, Lewiston Police told News 4 that since the venue began charging admission, they had far less property complains from residents. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
