Man allegedly drives with 2X legal BAC limit

LEWISTON, N.Y. (WIVB) – New York State Police say a Sanborn man was driving with more than two times the legal blood alcohol content.

Zachery K. Barrand, 30, was stopped on Route 429 in Lewiston, on Sunday, for passing a red light. According to police, Barrand failed field sobriety tests and registered a BAC level of .21 percent.

He was charged with aggravated DWI, first-degree aggravated operation, operating without an ignition interlock device and vehicle and traffic violations. His charge is a felony because of a previous DWI conviction within the past 10 years.
