Witmer Road, Route 31, had been closed in both directions from I-90 and Military Road. The road was reopened in both directions around noon.

New York State Police say a car carrier drove off the right side of the roadway because of driver inattention. Police say 46-year-old Sean J. Lorraine, of Niagara Falls, was driving when the vehicle went off the roadway, rolled over and came to rest in a ditch. Charges are pending.

The 2005 Western Star car carrier was owned by Gold Rush Transport, of Niagara Falls, according to State Police. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
