Olean residents can weigh in on proposed changes

Everyone agreed it is heartening to see people finally have the ability to enjoy a busy waterfront.

OLEAN, N.Y. (WIVB) – Neighbors in Olean will get the chance to weigh in on some proposed changes to the North Union Street rail crossing, Wednesday.

The New York State Department of Transportation is hosting a public meeting at 9 a.m. at the Olean Municipal Building. The city wants to change North Union Street from two lanes in each direction to one.

If the request is approved, then the existing signals at the rail crossing will be removed and replaced with gates.
