BOSTON, N.Y. (WIVB) - Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard says 20 year-old Nicholas D. Ball, of Eden, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other charges Sunday afternoon.

Around 6 p.m. in Boston, Deputy Ken Achtyl responded to Mayer Road to investigate a vehicle that reportedly crashed into several mailboxes and then into a ditch. After investigating, the driver was arrested and charged with DWI, Criminal Mischief, Operating with Open Alcoholic Beverages, Imprudent Speed, Failure to Maintain the Roadway, and Refusing a Breath Screen Device.

Sheriff Howard says Ball was transported by ambulance to ECMC for minor injuries.  Ball refused to submit to a blood test to determine his blood alcohol content.  He was processed and released on appearance tickets for Boston Court.
