Police name motorcyclist killed in Tonawanda crash

TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) – Tonawanda Police have released the name of a man killed in a crash between a motorcycle and car in the town on Sunday.

Officers say just after 4 p.m., Dante Mancuso was driving his motorcycle north on Parker when he was struck by a car at the intersection with Ogden Road. The 19-year-old Tonawanda man was taken to ECMC, where he later died.

Police say Mancuso had the right of way with no stop sign on Parker. The driver of the car had stopped at the stop sign before entering the intersection and into the path of the motorcycle.

Authorities are looking at driver inexperience and speed of the motorcyclist as contributing factors of the crash.

The investigation continues and at this time no charges have been filed.
