BATAVIA, N.Y. (WIVB) – There is no doubt that the local racetracks and racinos are contributing cash to the local economy.

Western Regional Off-Track Betting Corp. (WROTB), Hamburg Gaming and Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack announced Tuesday they have paid New York State $32.6 million during the first quarter of 2014. The cash is part of the gaming revenue-sharing arrangement.

The quarterly payments to the state contribute substantial amount to the 15 counties and two cities that own WROTB.

The tracks themselves provided horsemen purses of $5.4 million during the latest quarter.
