HANOVER, N.Y. (WIVB) – Two people are facing charges for allegedly removing road barriers and driving on a closed roadway.

Hanover Road in the Town of Hanover was closed on Sunday because of a large sinkhole. Deputies say just before 10 p.m, 46-year-old Ronald Shane of Buffalo exited a vehicle and removed two road barriers. The driver of the vehicle, 43-year-old Susan Clarke of Buffalo, then allegedly proceeded to drive down the closed roadway.

Deputies stopped Clarke and charged her with disobeying a traffic control device. Shane was charged with second degree criminal nuisance.
