BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Elmwood Village Charter School has kicked off a new construction project at its Days Park location in Buffalo.

Over the next few years the school will grow from 325 to 450 students. They’ll be adding second floor classrooms to both ends of the building.

Leaders say the new rooms will have benefit both current and future students.

Principal John Sheffield said, “It will also give us more resource rooms for students with special education needs, as well as students who are on accelerated courses. And it’s going to give us some better and bigger space for the teaching of the arts, visual arts, music and dance.”

The first addition, which includes three new classrooms, will be complete by this fall.
