Car strikes pedestrian on Maple Road

AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) – A pedestrian suffered head and leg injuries Friday morning, after being hit by a car in Amherst. The incident happened on Maple Road, near Alberta Drive, around 9 a.m.

Police say 77-year-old William Algeri, of Amherst, was driving the car that struck 70-year-old Suzanne Martin, of Amherst.

Police say Martin was taken to Erie County Medical Center. Algeri was not injured.

The accident is being investigated.
